Terms of service

Last updated: 1 November 2026

These terms are an agreement between your business and Future Investments Ventures (Pty) Ltd (“Trade a Quote”, “we”). By creating an account or using the service you accept them on behalf of your business. They include our operator agreement and should be read with our privacy notice.

1. The service

Trade a Quote is online software for quoting, invoicing, collecting payments, job cards, expenses, bookkeeping and payroll. What each plan includes is set out on our pricing page. We may improve and change features over time; we will not remove a core feature of your plan without at least 30 days' notice.

2. Your account

  • You must be at least 18 and authorised to bind the business you register.
  • Keep your details accurate and your password secret. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for the people you invite.
  • Each user needs their own login. Plans include 1 user on Starter, up to 5 on Professional and up to 15 on Business.

3. Free trial

New accounts get a 14-day free trial with every feature unlocked and no card required. When it ends, choose a plan to keep using the service. If you don't, access is paused: your data is kept and you can still export it.

4. Fees and billing

  • Plans are billed monthly in advance by card through PayFast, in South African Rand, starting on the day you subscribe. You pay the prices on the pricing page.
  • Changing plan takes effect straight away. Your monthly payment changes to the new plan's price from your next billing date.
  • You can upgrade, downgrade or cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the month you have paid for; we don't refund partial months.
  • We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice by email. The new price applies from your next billing month.
  • If a renewal fails, you keep full access for 14 days while you pay again, with the same or a different card. After that the account is paused until payment is made.

5. Payments your clients make

Pay Now links send your clients to your own PayFast or Yoco account. Those payments are between you, your client and that provider, under the provider's terms. We never hold your money and charge no transaction fees.

6. Acceptable use

You may not use the service to:

  • break the law, including tax, consumer-protection, anti-spam and data-protection law;
  • send documents or messages that are fraudulent, misleading or that people have not agreed to receive;
  • capture personal information you have no lawful basis to process;
  • probe, overload or interfere with the service or other customers' data;
  • copy, resell or white-label the service outside an approved partner agreement.

We may suspend accounts that breach this clause, with notice where reasonable.

7. Your data

You own the data you put into Trade a Quote. You give us permission to host, process and display it only to provide the service to you, as set out in the operator agreement. You can export it at any time. You are responsible for the accuracy of your quotes, invoices, VAT, payroll and tax figures; the software helps you calculate them but is not tax or accounting advice.

8. Partner (white-label) accounts

Approved partners may offer the service to their own clients under their brand. Partners are responsible for their clients' billing and first-line support and must pass these terms (or terms at least as protective) on to them. A partner can see and support the client companies it manages. The partner plan is billed monthly like any other plan, after a 14-day free trial. It includes 10 client companies; each further company costs R199 a month, added to the partner's monthly payment from the next one after it is added. Removing a company takes its charge off from the next payment; part-months are not refunded. Client companies are covered by their partner's subscription: if it lapses (after the same 14-day grace period), those clients lose access until it is renewed, and their data is kept.

9. Availability and support

We aim to keep the service available around the clock but can't promise it will never be interrupted, for example during maintenance or an outage at one of our providers. Support is by email; Business-plan requests are answered first.

10. Liability

The service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss (such as lost profit or data you did not export), and our total liability in any 12 months is limited to the fees you paid us in the three months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including under the Consumer Protection Act where it applies.

11. Closing your account

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We may close an account with 30 days' notice, or immediately for a serious breach of these terms. Export your data first: once deleted it cannot be recovered.

12. Changes to these terms

We will email account owners at least 30 days before a material change takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the change.

13. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by South African law. Disputes go first to good-faith negotiation, then to the South African courts with jurisdiction.

14. Information required by the ECT Act (section 43)
